(From The Pieta) Why pray The Rosary?
Mothers can be very persuasive. If you want to ask God for something, it might be a good idea to start with the Mother of God on your side.
The word Rosary means crown of roses. The rose is the queen of flowers and Mary is the Queen of Heaven. Each Hail Mary is giving her another beautiful rose, and each complete Rosary makes a crown of roses for Mary. It is a summary of the important events in the lives of Jesus and Mary. Here are some of the promises Mary made to Christians who recite the Rosary:
Special protection Powerful armor against hell
Destroys vice Decreases sin Defeats heresies
Causes virtue and good works to flourish
Fights misfortune
Favors you at the moment of death
Aids those who need necessities
It is the scourge of the devil
It touches the heart of Jesus who so loves His mother

- Life is not about just me, it is about what I can do to somehow make the world a better place. I have to ask myself daily, what did I do today, make someone smile or frown? If I did the former, I am doing my job. If the latter, I have to revisit why I am here. Maybe the frown was the result of something I said for their own good, but they did not accept it. I cannot help that, because you can lead a horse to water but you cannot make the horse drink. That does not imply that I know everything, but I can only speak from my own experiences. Experience sometimes means I have found lots of ways to make mistakes, but mistakes can be the best teachers. Life is choices, I can choose to let everyone learn from their own mistakes, or share my experiences, and by doing so, hopefully help someone avoid the same mistakes.
