Lent Day 11
The First Beatitude is "Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven".
To be poor in spirit means that you do not consider yourself any better than anyone else.
Sure, there are certain things you may be able to do much better than most others, but at the same time there might be some other things that those people can do better than you.
Therefore there is little to be gained by bragging, so practice some humility. Put the interests of others ahead of your own interests. Let others go first, give them the right of way.
When wronged, you have a choice to either be negative and complain or be positive by turning the other cheek and offer up your sufferings to atone for sins as suggested in the prayer called the Morning Offering.
