Lent Day 31
The tradition of wearing scapulars came from the legend of Saint Simon Stock in the 13th century.
According to the story, the Blessed Virgin told Simon anyone who died wearing the scapular would be preserved from hell.
The Church cautions this is not to be treated as a good luck charm, so treat it as a sign of faith while living your life as though you did not have to rely on such a good luck charm.
