Lent Day 12

The Second Beatitude is "Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth".
To be meek is to handle situations gently. If you cannot say anything nice, don’t say anything at all. Be a good example to others. Be patient and forgiving. Don’t yell because that makes others lose face. Give people the benefit of the doubt. Put yourself in their shoes and maybe you will understand them better. If you were in their situation you might have made the same decisions they made.
This is the meaning of the parable about people who take the best seats at the banquet, and then are asked to move back, while those who take the lesser seats are welcomed to move up. Another Bible statement illustrates this by stating the last shall be first, and the first shall be last.
